First, you will need to schedule an appointment with one of our licensed Sleep Care Specialists or Doctors to begin the process. Once you have booked, you will need to complete an online medical history questionnaire ahead of your appointment. Once you have completed this we’ll send you an at-home home sleep test (if needed) to monitor your sleep pattern overnight. Once we have the results and if the results are positive, we will recommend the therapy that best fits your results. Most times this will involve an oral appliance. At that time one of our dentists will then send you an impression kit and schedule a call to take your impressions virtually. Once impressions are received and your device arrives, we’ll help you with your fitting and provide the tailored therapy plan to get you the great sleep you deserve!
The iHeart Sleep targeted oral sleep therapy program is a non-CPAP, non-surgical therapy program designed to address your specific sleep apnea needs. CPAP works by inflating your airway like a balloon and can be very difficult to tolerate, and various surgery options can be very expensive and take many weeks or months to heal from the operation without any guarantee of resolving the initial issue. The iHeartSleep targeted therapy program utilizes an oral sleep appliance to reduce the resistance to airflow when breathing in and regulates flow when breathing out to gently support your airway. It harnesses your body’s own breathing and targets each part of the airway that is vulnerable to collapse without the need for a mask, pump, or hose.
We offer comprehensive sleep care for everyone planning, starting, and trying to find resolve everyones sleep issues related to snoring, and sleep apnea. We harness the best of technology to offer same or next day appointments using video, phone or in-person meetings.
We have a large pool of Medical or Dental Sleep Consultants, and Sleep Doctors or Dentists in our network to make sure you are taken care of properly in your state or city.
Your gum and teeth health are important factors in getting fitted with an oral appliance during therapy. In order to use the appliance, you must have at least half of your teeth on the upper and lower jaws. Your gums must be in good shape (no excessive swelling, bleeding or pain,) and you must be able to open your mouth without severe pain in the jaw joint. (If you have pain from grinding your teeth, an oral device will protect them.) You can’t get an appliance for treatment if you have braces, if you are undergoing dental implant procedure, or have other major dental work taht needs to be completed. However, you can get an oral appliance after completing the dental work.
Yes, all patients are required to have completed a sleep study before moving forward with oral therapy & device care. A valid sleep study is required by all our patients because it is needed to get a valid prescription and reimbursement from your medical insurance provider for such care.
A valid sleep study is one that is less than two years old. If you have already been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea and have been prescribed a CPAP you will not need to re-take a sleep test as long as you have a valid copy of the sleep study and it is less than 2 years old.
You simply need to book an appointment with our licensed sleep care specialist and then complete our Medical History & Privacy form and they will set up a telemedicine consultation with one of our licensed Doctors to review your previous test results and provide you with a prescription for oral appliance therapy.
The iHeart Sleep therapy program offers a transformative alternative to using a CPAP machine, backed by demonstrated clinical efficacy. Say goodbye to face masks, electric cords, hoses, and cumbersome machines that require filling with water nightly.
