The numbers are the dental item codes each part of treatment is billed under — useful if you would rather ring your fund yourself. Item 984 is the one that varies most between funds, so it is the one worth asking about. The monitoring and the guarantee carry no item number, so no fund pays a benefit toward them.
† Payment plans are provided by SmileRight over terms of up to 36 months with no interest, and a deposit payable with your first payment; terms beyond 12 months are available at participating practices. How Our Results Guarantee Works
We record your oxygen desaturation index (ODI) before you start treatment and again after your PEEP Guard has been fine-tuned, using an identical method each time so the two results can be compared fairly.
Measure your starting point
Before treatment begins, you wear an overnight oximeter for three valid nights in a row to set your starting ODI.
Fit and fine-tune
We fit your PEEP Guard and adjust the jaw advancement over your follow-up appointments until it’s optimised for you.
Re-test
You complete another three valid nights in a row of oximetry. The built-in compliance sensor confirms you were wearing your PEEP Guard on those nights.
Compare the results
Your average ODI across the three starting nights is compared with your average across the three nights recorded after optimisation.
If, once optimised, your treatment doesn’t deliver at least a 50% drop in your average ODI or an average ODI under 10 events per hour, you may be eligible for a refund of your out-of-pocket cost for the PEEP Guard device, once the appliance is returned to us.
